The Basement Apartment Theater Movement is a new theater group that will be opening up this June. BATM was started by a group of recent graduates and current students of the Baldwin-Wallace College Theater Department. BATM strives to bring new opportunities to the ever-growing artistic community of Cleveland. Based out of Berea, BATM will consist of a summer season that includes full length productions as well as events in the community of any and all varieties. THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT by Stephen Adley Guirgis August 4 - 7 at 8 pm
The Church at 6201 Detroit Ave, Ohio City.
A hard-hitting, innovative play that examines modern religion and causes everyone to ask questions about what they believe. The afterlife has become a courtroom where those who await their final judgement are actually put on trial. This particular trial focuses on Judas Iscariot, more commonly known as the Betrayer of Jesus. In this play, the assumed guilt of Judas is examined as the purgatorial courtroom calls such witnesses as Saint Peter, Mother Theresa and Satan himself. Donations are accepted but not required.
